Recently saw an Ampeg VT-60 in a pawn shop. it’s a three channel amp, channel A sounded pretty sweet the other two were..eh. Does anybody have one of these or know how it’s supposed to work, what are these amps worth etc. etc. What I figured is that the "A" channel was the main "dirty" channel while the "C" was the clean channel and the "B" channel was like an overdrive that would combine with one of the other two, that’s the only thing I can think of either that or the "B" channels tubes are shot because the output was real weak sounding. Any comments / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I plan on taking my guitar in their eventually and get a better idea what this thing can do. Thanks Tony
I just came by a VT-120 which is the four tube version of the VT-60. I was intending to trade it for something else but need to repair it first. For a hard rock/metal player they could be pretty useful, sort of a poor man’s boogie. I sent to Ampeg for a schematic and they included versions for both amps along with some recommended mods and instructions on how to repair a weakness in the design. The cathodes of the power tubes have some small resistors going to ground. Eventually, they will incinerate as they did on this one. The fix is to lighten the resistance and put a hefty diode in. A couple of the IC’s need to be upgraded too. They aren’t especially easy to work on since the PC board is cramped and kind of flimsy. Plan to fix these deficiencies if you buy the amp. They also come stock with really shitty tubes so that’s another $100. A local shop said the trade value was a couple hundred bucks and they thought they could turn it for $300 at the outside. If you get it, email me and I’ll get you the schematic. I have got so called "Bull eye" ( A small hole in the glass with round chip) on one of my fog lights. I do not want to replace it right now (probably another $ 60.00 – 80.00), but was thinking to protect from rain and snow getting insight. The diameter is about 3-4 millimeters, half of a cigarette. My firsts idea was a small round piece of heavy duty transparent scotch tape. But maybe somebody has a better solution? Please respond me via e-mail — Garry, ‘95 MaxSE Hey there Garry, Several ideas, like a small piece of transparent plastic, and some glue, silicone based for weather sealing. Or just squirt the glue directly into the hole enough to fill it and cover the opening. You’ll want to use something that can stand up to the heat from the lamp, and not melt like Scotch tape might!! Secondly, requesting email response from newsgroup is poor ‘netiquette’. ! ! ! If you want the answer, go back and look up the responses in the group. I had the same thing happen on a Mag20. They just replaced the top piece that the dial screws to and it was fixed. Took 5 minutes and $10. DJ
I recently purchased a Specialized M2 FS with a MAG21. My problem is that the adj. dial on the shock went past the stops. Now the dial only stops on the high side but spins "around and around" on the low side. Do any of you know if the shock can be repaired; how to repair the shock; etc. Thanks David

It is. The Quadra 21R is the Judy without the damping cartridge and with Magnesium legs (the outer bits – can’t remember if these are stantions or sliders!). It uses the same elastomers as the Judy and is yellow. The Mag 21 is an updated version of 1994’s Mag 21 air/oil fork. I think it is a goldy colour. I’d like some advice on these… I’m a downhiller who does a bit of X country racing. Which fork would be best for me? Will the Quadra cope with big hits? Will the Mag21 be too sloppy if it is converted to long travel? (I’m not prpared to pay upwards of
