I’m tiling my shower. I will be putting a bench along one wall of the shower. I’ve thought about, 1. Framing the bench out of 2×4s and plywood, then putting mud and the pvc liner over that just like it is done on the floor. 2. Put in the shower pan, then on top of that build a block/mud bench on top of that that does not have a pvc liner. 3. ??? Thoughts, suggestions. Thanks, Fred

Hi Does anyone know of a site that explains from scratch, how to build a shower recess? Thanks
Sorry for not being clear in my first post. In Australia, we call the shower cubicle itself a shower recess. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Hi > Does anyone know of a site that explains from scratch, how to build a shower > recess? > Thanks >-what- is a shower recess? the shower itself? a recess in the shower >wall? what?
if this is the shower pan, see the current fine home building or http://www.jlconline.com/jlc/archive/kitchen/mortarbed_showers/ and other areas of this great site should answer all. the author of the article also sells a book that the article is an excerpt from – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Sorry for not being clear in my first post. Building the walls is not the problem. It’s what you line the floor and walls with afterwards that is where the work/trouble comes in. Simplest approach is to use a prefab shower stall of some sort. If you want tile then you need some detailed info, more than you’re likely to get from a web site. In the US most tile stores have classes and literature to explain what to do. — Dan Hicks Too many have dispensed with generosity in order to practice charity. –Camus

Depends on your sense of humor… Orka Suit Penguin Boss Killer Tiel Bird Sometimes thinking off the wall makes for a neat name. One thing to think about… When you teach the bird to talk, don’t talk TO the bird…pretend the bird is talking to YOU. For instance, don’t teach ‘I love you, Killer’. Teach him, ‘I love you, Krysta’. When he finally learns how to talk, he won’t sound so self-centered! :) And it’ll make you feel good that he tells you that he loves you. We got outside perches for our tiel (Happy) early on, and we never lock him in his cage…except when we need our quiet time and he’s being a pest. But, then again, he’s ALWAYS a pest. I have put together some instructions on how to build a shower perch for a tiel…so that you can take showers together. Cost to build is about $3-$5. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll email it to you. Or if there’s enough interest, I can just post it here. Good luck with what’s-his-name!

I just got a new cockatiel and I don’t know what to name him! Does anyone have any names for a gray and white male tiel? I would appreciate it! Thanx Krysta
I named mine Scooter, hedging a bet on his maleness. If he turned out to be a little girl, he’d simply become Skeeter (the two characters from muppet babies) He’s a normal grey (yes, it’s a he, he has demonstrated in numerous ways, despite his *ahem* innocent youthfulness.) My lutino is named Max. He’s older, and I think he’s really really confused about his gender. The previous owners thought he was male, hence his name. He lived with what has been proven is a female bird, so he may have simply picked up the male end of the spectrum (I’ve read that one of any two same-sex birds living together often "takes the part" of the missing sex). Anyway, as he is a lutino, it’s pretty much impossible to visually sex him, but he does do the back-arch-squeak-thing. If I could only convince Scooter that Max would be more fun to mate with than my hand, I might have babies… Try www.upatsix.com I’m sure I remember a big list of birdie names. I’ve also heard that hard consonant sounds are good in a name, because the birds have a difficult time distinguising some vowels, but I’m no expert… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >I just got a new cockatiel and I don’t know what to name him!
